Overview

You have found a PDF called, "Tricky NonText Data in Word" somewhere on the internet that you would like to include in your course.

Unfortunately, you are unable to use Canvas' Color Contrast Checker to determine if the color contrast is high because the Canvas Accessibility Checker can only check Canvas content pages.

However, Paciello's Colour Analyzer Tool can be used to check the color contrast on documents.

Instructions & feedback

Download Paciello Colour Contrast Analyser. Once you have downloaded and installed the Colour Contrast Analyser, open it, and follow the instructions below to check the color contrast between the text, images, tables, and the document background.

Note: Paciello Colour Contrast Analyser may not function correctly if your desktop or laptop is connected to multiple screen displays.

The following questions will ask you to determine the readability of specific objects in the Tricky NonText Data in Word (PDF).

Use Paciello Colour Contrast Analyser

  1. Use the eye-dropper tool to select colors for the foreground (text) and background.
  2. The tool will automatically assess the color combination and generate a report that includes WCAG 2.1 status for AA and AAA. Aim to achieve Level AA standard.

Feedback

  • Feedback will be provided to help check your work.
  • If you answered incorrectly, please feel free to review the module, and retake the quiz. You can take this quiz as many times as you'd like!
